Certificate of Practice in Gratitude Psychology

Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation for what you have - as opposed to a consumer-driven emphasis on what you want.

The therapy is the act of thoughtfully reflecting on the aspects of life that bring great joy, causing feelings of gratefulness, rather than the insatiable longing of what’s just out of reach. By practicing awareness of the positive things in life, we fight off the brain’s natural tendency to scan for and spot the negatives.

Experiential Learning at PIPAS : How You Will Learn

Learn by Experiencing,                Not Just Studying

An enjoyable and creative learning environment at PIPAS encourages experiential learning. The course places strong emphasis on out-of-the-classroom experiences, allowing students to engage with real-life situations and individuals they will encounter in their professional practice. This approach helps students understand people beyond theory and apply their learning meaningfully.

An Integrative &                          Holistic Approach

The core model of the course is integrative and holistic. It focuses on the integration of thinking, feeling, and behaviour, along with an understanding of the social and cultural contexts of counselling. This prepares students to respond thoughtfully and effectively to real, ground-level counselling situations.

From Theory to Personal Counselling Style

While a strong theoretical foundation is provided, equal importance is given to helping students develop their own counselling style. The therapeutic relationship and client empowerment are seen as central to the process of therapeutic change, and students are encouraged to grow professionally within the core integrative framework offered by the course.

Learning as a Counsellor and as a Client

Throughout the training period, students experience the counselling process from both perspectives — as a counsellor and as a client. They are guided by qualified, practicing counsellors from diverse therapeutic backgrounds. The course is largely experiential, taught in a creative, interactive, and challenging manner, with professional practice at the heart of the training.

Professional Practice - Focused Training

During the training period, students will have a rich learning experience as they will be taught by different tutors all of whom are qualified counsellors practicing in a variety of therapeutic approaches. The course is mostly experiential; taught in a creative, challenging, and interactive way throughout. The teaching team considers professional practice to be a key component of counselling training and to be the future success of all qualified counsellors. Emphasis is also placed on students assuming self-responsibility in their general approach to their learning experience and meeting coursework requirements.
